We received an email to say that a value has been agreed for the car (90% of the insured value). However this meant getting a letter from the bank to say there is no finance on the car. They wouldn’t give me this as my original Emirates ID is with the visa agent in Dubai. I then had to drive to the repair shop, south of Abu Dhabi near Dafra airbase to collect the registration plates from the car. 

As our car is registered in Dubai (it matches your visa), this means the next step is to travel to Dubai and to ‘sell’ the car to the insurance at the Road Traffic Department.
