A Favourite Perch

King of all he surveys!

A quiet walk in the local countryside on the last good day of weather this week.  It definitely had the feel of spring today, with warm sunshine bathing us periodically as we strolled along.  The robins were ever present, marshalling us as we passed through each one's territory.  They were singing at the tops of their voices, making sure everyone knew they were there to defend their area.

This one was on his favourite perch, if the evidence from the branch can be taken at face value.  I normally like close ups, but the lens/camera combination wasn't ideal so I thought this crop conveyed some of his behaviour, scanning the local area for intruders.

Sadly, the news today is all focusing on a certain interview that took place over the weekend.  I don't feel there were any winners, but again the media seem more intent on creating headlines than thinking about the harm they cause with their intrusion into public figures lives.
