Whinnyfold
We've a bit more light now, sunset is all the way back to 6, so time enough for a wee coastal visit afterwork, somewhere new yet still not too far from our doorstep over country roads.
That's us popped our Whinnyfold cherry. A clutch of houses perched on the clifftop, a bit of a hairy walk down the steep cliff path in a brewing gale, and a harsh stone beach with craggy cliffs waited us below. Can't believe up to 300 fisherfolk worked the bay many moons ago, hauling catches up the cliffs. When the fishing up Peterhead way proved a stronger draw for those able to relocate, for a time some of the more industrious of those left behind opened sitooteries for the tourists that travelled over from Cruden Bay during its heyday.
