What a glorious day! The calm before the storm tomorrow and Thursday. After a late lunch Susan pottered around her pots in the garden while I did some batch cooking of soup: leek (from the allotment) and potato, curried parsnip (from the allotment) and a veggie tart tatin with carrots and sprouts both from the allotment.
Susan was eager to try out the new gadgets for her sewing machine; a table and foot so as she can experiment with freehand machine embroidery.
I’ve run out of cardamom, can I get any? There seems to be a shortage. And as for blancmanges, they seem to have disappeared. It’s easy enough make my own from cornflour and chocolate or vanilla extract but I’m interested to know what’s happened in the world of blancmanges (as Reggie Perrin might ponder)
