The accidental finding

Days like this

Tuesdays are tricky at work, but I only do five hours (it's different every day for me) I walked home through town, all uphill, then made a sandwich and lay down on the red sofa with Bomble the cat.

The sound of the knife clattering to the floor awoke me. I dragged myself upstairs to my Zoom class, stuck it out for the first hour, then left. I didn't feel I had anything intelligent to say, and I'm growing sick of this particular tutor's methods, not learning anything new. I got into bed for a lie down, and CleanSteve came along with his laptop, with a quiz show on it. When I next awoke, I heard a question about biscuits. Of course, I aced it, but must have fallen asleep again, because I was confused that the final set of questions were not biscuit-
related! What's a quiz without biscuits in every round?

Hours later, I forced myself to get up and had some supper. Steve was on another Zoom call, so we dined separately. Although I've signed up for more Zoom classes and events over the next few months, I'm looking forward to in-person gatherings, some sunny day...

The notebook image is because I'm trying to write more every day. I started the year by keeping a gratitude journal, but this has morphed into a commonplace book. The morning thoughts seem to be sharper, quelle surprise!

A few weeks ago, this would have been the end of my working week, over before it even began, but I now work at nursery on Wednesday mornings too, and will do a short youth club stint this Saturday. How will I ever get back to the rhythm of busier times, when the weekend markets return?
