Snail mail

Now we have our super fast broadband, thebear and Mary were found indulging in some old fashioned envelope stuffing!  

Apparently transporting pieces of paper, wrapped in more paper,  by human carriers to others,  was popular back in the last century.  And astonishingly, it cost 13 shillings for the transport of each piece of paper.
