Lapwing

Back on the Roughlow walk today and got caught in a couple of brief but heavy showers. Once again we spotted a goldcrest which is now a regular occurrence. The lapwings were circling the stubble fields around Willington Road and Common Lane and it is a very reliable place to spot them.

Lands End to John O'Groats 1000 Mile Virtual Challenge Update

Day 32 -  Devon. 4.2 miles walked. 165.1 miles completed.

After leaving Newton Poppleford I crossed the River Exe and then passed through Bowd and then Sidford to the north of Sidmouth. I managed to take a quick diversion to look at Sidmouth Town's ground and finished to the east of Sidmouth. My pub stop was at the Blue Ball in Sidford for virtual beef and vegetable stew with cheesy dumplings and another couple of virtual pints of Otter bitter.
