Watery , wispy washy
We usually take our LBB out in the morning but his napping regime is changing so we decided to have the morning in the house , a chippy lunch and then a walk to several train lookout spots .
By lunchtime we had done painting, sticking , building , eating and plenty of playing with the trains plus water play in the bath. We walked out this afternoon in search of trains ( saw 2 ). The nap finally happened at 3 pm .
I had a lengthy chat with one of my neices last night ,we covered so many topics including the rearranging of her wedding yet again . she is setting up a project that supports women who have suffered domestic violence . I set up something similar about 30 years ago ( with 5 other women), which is still going strong , though I’m no longer involved . It was good to be hear her enthusiasm, creativity and compassion .
One of my brothers went to visit my dad today , the first visit with physical contact since last March . He is too upset to talk about it for the moment , which is unlike him , so I’ve no idea what went on . My sister is going on Saturday so we will se what she finds . It’s going to be a long time before I see him . I have a lot I would like to say but it just sticks in my throat , too many people are paying too high a price for the years of austerity that the British government imposed on the population for fictitious reasons , it’s been unnecessary and left our public’s services in such an underfunded state that there was no way we could have managed a pandemic well .
My beloved has served on the local council for the last 35 years and we have witnessed the gradual implementation of horrendous cuts in public spending in an area that is already one of the most deprived in the country . No wonder Blackburn has had more cases of the virus than anywhere else in the country .
My final thought for the day is this tragic fact , in one year we have spent 37 billion pounds on a test, trace and track system.
Thirty seven billion pounds in 12 months . This includes some people who have been paid £4000 per day as consultants. The source of these figures was yesterday’s BBC news , so probably relatively accurate .
Sorry about that , I wasn’t expecting to preach , if you have read this far , thank you .
