A fine crop of "Earlies"
"Them as knows" reckon to plant spuds on Good Friday. So I did. So there.
One of the problems arising from re-drawing the garden is that what used to be a wide border with a 10' Cercidiphyllum, a small cherry tree, a small Victoria plum, an 8' Ceanothus and a tall thin yew has to become a narrow veg plot as a result of shop hours causeing an eviction from the allotment.
The weeds consist of Saxifrage (London pride), Epimedium, lily of the valley, Japanese anemone, hemerocalis, the obvious Bluebells etc.
Stones which went un-noticed in a herbaceous border become a bleeping nuisance in amongst yer taties, not to mention the remaining roots requiring pruning out.
The "Fine crop of earlies" is, I think, 5 gal bucket No.4.
