Shuswap Road and West

The colours of spring
are seeping in...geese and sheep
graze...the river runs

I crossed the South Thompson River on the Pritchard Bridge, a long wooden bridge with single lane traffic and a passing section in the middle.

The trumpeter swans are still dipping and diving on the river. They should be leaving soon for their nesting grounds further north.

Flocks of Canada geese have been arriving. They are scouring the fields along the river.

One little band of big horn sheep were finding green grass just below the road.

Mount Martin, which was burned badly during the summer of 2009, is standing white against the sky today. 1400 hectares were lost to the wildfire that August.  Its summit is 5151 feet (1570 m) and is holding its snow load well.

I enjoyed a beautiful drive and I was home for lunch.
