Shugborough

My only “local” National Trust property is Shugborough Hall. You can wander round the grounds (with a booking) from 9.00 am and. It’s quiet then. 

I booked my ticket a few days ago and was sad to see that the weather forecast was for rain. I went anyway. I drove through three showers but it was dry(ish) for a while when I was there. 

It was a delight to sit on a bench, phoning my niece, with the fresh wind blowing so much she could hear it. From there you could just see the house, hidden behind the trees.
