Homespun
I cast on this scarf last weekend after finishing the Freya shawl. It's another homespun project knit with a family of yarns. I started with lilac silk which I plied with minty green silk/mohair yarn but there was still lilac silk left over. I plied the left over lilac silk with green Corriedale, which I carded with some pink silk throwsters waste and plied that with the plain green, then I had some of that left over and plied that with some pink/ green & yellow silk cocoons.
I'm using a pattern that's perfect to show off their individual characteristics and how well they work together. I like the yarn families you get when spinning as one skein isn't always enough to do anything with but if you have a few that work well together you can do more.
Long lie, breakfast in bed, iTunes & Q magazine on iPad in bed (the who, biffy clyro and foals purchased), patchwork, telly, pizza, knitting, kids home. All in all a pretty good Sunday
