Beautiful, vicious, cheeky, scary, intelligent, psychopathic. These are some of the words people have used to describe the Australian Magpie since it was voted the 2017 Australian Bird Of The Year. 
 When this one wasn't given the immediate attention on demand tried to push open the sliding screen door to get into the kitchen looking for food. I know we are not encouraged to feed these birds but not to many people abide by that rule. I encourage them in my yard as they keep pests down including cats and Indian Mynahas
