What Have We Here

Saturday! Had an afternoon visit from my uncle who lives an hour or so away. While walking around the neighborhood, we caught sight of purple flowers here and there. I don't know their names.

These were growing a block north of our house, among the fallen leaves and twigs surrounding the evergreens at the front of a neighbor's house. I couldn't get the focus quite right on any shot, but here it is anyway.

There is a ninety percent chance of snow on Monday and some chance throughout the week, but I believe that these hardy little blossoms have an even higher chance of surviving.
