Cold and Windy

After those mild days we have had, today was a bit of a surprise. Looking out the window, I thought it looked great. Lots of sunshine. But, down by the lake?  Oh, that wind! It was definitely a winter wind and along with it, snow in the air. Still, being Sunday, the conservation areas and the waterfront were filled with people. By the time I arrived, the serious birdwatchers had left and had been replaced by parents and children in snowsuits feeding chickadees and looking for deer in the bushes. No-one seemed to mind the cold; they were probably just happy to be out of the house. Just like me. It has been a long pandemic!
