Gouda, very gouda

I like cheese. Plain, sensible, mild cheese, like Wensleydale or Crumbly Lancashire. Unfortunately, today, I couldn't find either in the supermarket, so I bought some Gouda from their 'Foreign Muck' section.

And it's gorgeous, much nicer than Cheddar. I tried it on its own, then with a blob of tomato puree; next I'll try the other end of the spectrum with a dash of lime pickle.

Much warmer day today and that, with my cheese discovery, has cheered me up no end.
