Cowslips
A pleasant run this morning - bright, not as windy or cold as yesterday - & catching up with my "To do" list this afternoon. This was meant to be a quick Blip, a record of the cowslip-types which are now beginning to flower in the garden, but the high contrast meant that I had to balance the exposure in Lightroom more than I'd planned. Something to give light shade at source would have been quicker!!
The primroses have been cheering us up for ages & they hybridise with the wild cowslips which have spread everywhere - our clay soil really seems to suit them. This specimen which has appeared in the back of the shrub border looks closer to the wild cowslip, but I'm never sure!
