Thurgoland Tunnel
This Tunnel is part of the Trans pennine trail, a route that takes you from the east coast to the west coast or vice versa.
The original line was opened in 1845 and went from Sheffield to Manchester, this Tunnel isn’t that old though and was constructed in 1947, the original tunnel is now blocked off, though you can sneak in to it, it’s pitch black though, the newer tunnel as lights in and instead of trains it as walkers, cyclists and horse riders going through it.
