old chimneypot

We had our chimneys pointed up today and, because we have to have a standard chimney to get the stainless steel flue down for the wood burner, this beautiful old pot had to come down. We were so pleased he got it down without breaking it. I love all the colours on it and the design at the top, and all the worn bits too. It’s been there since the old part of the house was built in 1902. Now it’s going to be a feature in the garden. It’s very heavy and much bigger than I expected.
