River Trip

I took a short trip out to Shepherd Meadows and along the River Blackwater this afternoon with the aim of catching some bird life for today's Mono Monday Challenge, and I was not disappointed. My favourite shot of the day was this heron, which was wading along the edge of the balancing pond, and, for a change, in reasonably open land allowing this close-up shot.
