Monday: Bassano Hotel
We were up in good time this morning so that we could be at the British Army Training Unit Suffield (also known as BATUS) by 0930. Suffield is about a 40 minute drive from Medicine Hat. There we connected with the medical personnel and received our first dose of Astra Zeneca. I mentioned recently that us being vaccinated was complex - in short, a flight and a drive across the prairies (and again in reverse) was involved. For reasons too complex to explain, it wasn’t possible to do it locally in Vancouver.
After that a drive back to Calgary and the flight home. We’d intended to stop off for something to eat in Bassano, where we had lunch on the drive to Medicine Hat, but the diner was closed. So I took a few photos and we drove on and ate in Strathmore (less characterful) instead.
We feel ok but quite tired and a little heavy-limbed which I think is a side effect.
