Farms and Fans

I avoided the interstates today in favor of secondary highways. Somewhere between Fond du Lac and Milwaukee, there are a number of windmills scattered among the fields. 

We did get snow last night, but by midday it had all melted away. The skies maintained the steely grey appearance they took on yesterday, and this made for a colder-feeling Tuesday than it actually was.

Every windmill was working hard except for the one in the foreground of this picture. I'm not sure if it was an angle issue or if it was shut down for other reasons, but it stood still on this knoll above soon-to-be-planted corn fields.
