Spring in Parliament Piece
Not great quality but I hoped to capture the lovely, soft spring light in this fabulous corner of Kenilworth. The Parliament Piece is said to be where Henry III held a Parliament in August 1266, while his troops besieged Kenilworth Castle. The late Simon de Montfort's followers, led by Henry de Hastings, were still holding out there against the king's forces. That's the spire of St Nicholas' church you can see in the background.
Enough history. Great views. The dogs love it, too, of course. It's a haven for wild life, with buzzards, kestrels, goldfinches, jays and many more species.
