Wearing Of the Green…

…for St Patrick’s Day. A happy day to all who celebrate him.

I was delighted to discover this female praying mantis, relaxing in the sunshine this afternoon. I fetched my camera and was closing in for a macro when she suddenly jerked her head. Strange, I thought, since she was resting. But later when the shot was enlarged I saw that a pesky wee wasp had landed on her face. She was not interested in eating it.
