I began reading the first of the fourteen books I bought at the Books Kinokuniya English Book Sale today. The first of sixteen short Chinese S.F. stories translated by Ken Liu. If the first story, Goodnight, Melancholy by Xia Jia is anything to go by, this is going to be a cracking good read.

By a strange coincidence, one the day I began reading Broken Stars, one of my pupils presented me with a gift he had made; a star.
