You know what they say....
....You wait ages for a bus hospital appointment and then two come along at once!!
I got a call first thing this morning from the nurse I spoke to yesterday; she’s booked me a face to face appointment with my consultant this Friday. He’s not actually working on the clinic, but has said he will pop down to see me and address my concerns, which I am sooooooo very happy about!
When I asked her about the other appointment at Liverpool, she was at a loss why I had been sent that, as they hadn’t referred me.
On with the detective hat and several calls later, it transpired that the appointment had been sent was from my original referral (dated 9th November!!!) from the trauma team at Royal Blackburn.
Here I am, bemoaning the fact I’ve waited 9 weeks to see my consultant but an appointment for limb reconstruction has taken FOUR MONTHS! The lady I spoke to said that’s how busy they are. Wow.
So, I’m counting my blessings and while I don’t regret my badgering yesterday, it could actually have been much worse.
Imagine the state my leg would have been in by now!
In the absence of anything to blip (other than my leg again), I’m sharing this photo from 3 years ago (during my Blip hiatus) as it ties in with my story!
I organised a family whip round for Mr A’s birthday and we travelled to Essex (ah, the good old days of travel) where he enjoyed an experience day driving a Routemaster bus. I don’t think I’ve ever seen him smile so much; he loved every minute, was an absolute natural and it was a fab weekend away.
Here’s hoping we can share some more great days out soon ;-)
