Boot - No leg?

It has been a sunny day after a dull start, feeling increasingly warm. A good day for getting into the garden making (slow) progress with the path around the greenhouse.
Arranged a plumber to fit a replacement shower, thanks to Wendy for her recommendation. Camera Club this evening.
I spotted this boot on my walk with Stanley this morning. I am assuming that it had been discarded for some reason rather than being the visual part of something more gruesome. Stanley certainly was not interested.
