Recent rain and wind had flattened some of the hellebore stems in the garden, so I brought them in for a bit of fun with the light pad.

After a couple of weeks of little exercise because of the sequence of back pain followed by a snotty cold, I've managed two energetic walks with friends today - what a pleasure.  I feel much better for it. And it has been a welcome distraction from what feels like an endless sequence of bleak stories in the news.  Are we on the way to losing what rights we still have, in terms of peaceful protest...? And how can it be that the penalties for people who topple statues of slave traders and their ilk are greater than those for men who attack women?
