The Lozarithm Lens

Doodle #17 (Thursday 18th March 2021)

The notes for this doodle, written in 1968, say, "Younger Than Yesterday" is a development of an earlier page that came about by breaking down one rectangle into two and then putting a kink into the next door 'walls' of the adjoining rectangle so that one folds into the other. This is taking it one step forward by putting shapes inside the rectangles and breaking it up. There is a relation between the straight lines, e.g. the inner hexagon and the curved lines. The title comes from a Byrds LP and is used because the uses of colour and so forth make it seem 'younger' than the earlier piece."
With its repeated lines I hope it fits with the theme of Repetition in this week's Abstract Thursday without hesitation or deviation.
Thanks to Ingeborg for hosting.
In other news I have spent this afternoon rummaging around in one of my two lofts sorting cardboard boxes for storage and packing. Now I'm off to watch The Good Fight (new series).

The Byrds - Have You Seen Her Face (recorded 29 November 1966, Columbia Studios, Hollywood CA)
The obvious choice from Younger Than Yesterday would have been My Back Pages but that has already been featured, in 2014. This features a lead vocal by new member Chris Hillman, who wrote it, replacing Gene Clark and bringing a blue-grass influence into the band, and the album also marked a departure for the band through using new producer Gary Usher.
