The accidental finding

From a distance

..you can see Wales, across the river Severn. One day we'll be allowed to go there.

G and I went for a walk this morning. She's only recently taken up walking, as she has been shielding, and wasn't sure how far she could go. We did one of my usual circuits, some of which was new to G (the stone trough receiving water from the spring that feeds the waterfall far below, and the sight of a skylark coming into land in a field off Claypits Lane. Oh, and the animal incinerator at The Limekilns). To my surprise, the walk took two and a half hours. We did, of course, take a rest in the field while waiting to spot the skylark. G regaled me with stories about her life as a rural district nurse. She retired about ten years ago, and had some lucky escapes, by the sound of it. I could imagine the stories being read on radio 4, but I forgot to mention that to G, we had so much to talk about! She was also photographing trees for an art course.

I was starving when I got home, and quickly whipped up some rice noodles with peanut and coconut sauce. Mmmm Hung the washing on the line, because it was sunny. Wanted to carry on doing the jigsaw in the sunshine, but I had Things to Do, so went and did them. That took most of the afternoon, though I stopped to make a snack of "banana ice cream" using frozen bananas. When the sun went in, I felt terribly cold. Maybe the frozen banana didn't help!

Later, I cooked supper for one because there's quite a few veggies I can't eat right now. We shared the rice though! Now watching All Creatures Great and Small, the 1970s version.
