Equilux

I had never heard the term equilux until I read it online today, courtesy of Alex Beresford, whose discussion with Piers Morgan caused the latter to storm off live TV like an infant. Equilux means a date on which day and night are the same length. A beautiful milestone in the year.

A colleague got stuck in Zimbabwe due to travel complications and today told me she was on a horse-riding safari in the country’s best known wildlife site. I stood next to the fridge and carved off bits of cheddar from a block, whilst living the experience vicariously.

I lifted the spirits by deciding to go to Brazil for a while, either if the return to Mozambique falls through, or if I take a career break of any sort. Perhaps after Brazil’s disastrous handling of coronavirus has settled down.

The Portuguese text written on this monument on Parker’s Piece strengthens my resolve. These pillars were unveiled in 2018 to commemorate the football rules written down by Cambridge students once upon a time, that have gone on to shape the modern game.
