A sure sign of spring
Temperature today is again in the mid teens. Absolutely wonderful with sunshine from dawn and no wind to take the edge off things. People are casting clouts left, right and centre but I think that will come to a sticky end. It's bound to get cooler soon and so it should really. We're only in mid March.
The day began with early coffee with my niece in Maastricht. Always good to get the family news and also hear how things are in NL. Then a zoom funeral, the third I've attended this way in well under a year. It was a fitting tribute to the person who had died and, as so often happens, there were interesting tales of a life well lived.
After that, to clear our heads, we set off to a spot where an angling friend said we would be "guaranteed" to see a kingfisher. We had a great walk by the river, a picnic lunch and lots of fresh air but no kingfisher to be spotted. But here is a spring lamb. The first I've seen this year though it looks pretty sturdy so not a completely newborn. There were some younger ones in the field but this was the only one looking at the camera.
Wishing everyone a warm, sunny and happy weekend.
