New Forest

Well, "forest" might be a bit of an exaggeration.  This is part of a new tree plantation in the park.  Inside the plastic tubes, the new trees are barely more than twigs.  Come back in 20 years, though, and this should be a pleasant addition to the area.

There was a bit of a chill in the air, but the blue sky stayed with us virtually all day. There is blossom out on many trees, and some trees are already showing a green haze as the new year's leaves are beginning to burst.  This weekend is the Spring Equinox when the sun is above the horizon for as many hours as it is below the horizon.  It really is an optimistic time of year.  Let's hope that optimism is buoyed by the promised relaxation of lockdown rules.
