Day-by-Day

A couple, brother and sister, possibly in their early 70s, knocked unexpectedly on the door this morning, looking for the house where they’d grown up in the early ‘60s. It was here (our house), recognisable from some of the few photos they had, including this one. It was fascinating to hear their stories about the farm then (their father was the cattleman) and the house - no electricity (lit by Tilley lamps) or inside toilet. A small, unexpected window into the place that’s been my home for over 30 years
