St Marks Park
As a follow-up to our previous, and rather muddy, walk we went back to Warriston to explore further.
Using paths that follow old railway lines we also discovered an original line that connected to the (now demolished) Powderhall incinerator, complete with the cables which were part of the loading system.
From there we returned via St Marks Park Community Woodland, with this carved post at the head. Birds sang in the trees, flowers bloomed and, on the way home we even saw an elephant!
