Flowering Pear Tree

Most of the old gang convened inside at Trail House this morning for the first time in a year. It was lovely and warm and because of distancing we had the whole long table to ourselves. It also meant we had to shout at each other,  but nobody seemed to mind. We even got our coffee in a real cup instead of a paper one.

We hastened home to see how Spike was doing as he is getting used to being left at home on his own. He was standing behind the fence at the top of the driveway waiting for us but as soon as he saw the car he turned and ran for the dog door and was at the door to greet us when we came in. As far as we could tell, he didn't bark while we were gone, but short of leaving a tape recorder on how would we know for sure?

In another first in a year I went downtown to the yarn store to get something for a new project. The quilt is finished but I can't contact the quilter. It's been 9 months since she did the last quilt and in these strange times, anything could have happened to her. I hope she's ok .

I got caught up with Justine in the yarn shop...she lost her little dog, Olive who was always in the store and  Flying Goat Coffee across the street has closed! Looks like I'll have to drive to Healdsburg if I want an Aztek Mocha. There is never a shortage of coffee places and a new one with more food is going to open there soon.

The Pilates Studio moved during the shutdown and is now trying to figure out how they are going to operate at 10% capacity as well as keep the Zoom classes going when they are short staffed. There is yet another coffee place right across the street from it,  but it's unclear who is going to be doing what and when.

There is a glimmer of light at the end of the tunnel, but a lot of things are up in the air as everybody tries to figure out what to do. It's hard to say whether it's a patch of blue sky or a train!
