Banners and flowers on the Prom today. In the extras a personal memory.   Last night Leeds won 2-1 at Fulham. This morning Leeds legend Peter Lorimer died aged 74. Although I only saw him in his pomp on the TV screen, I did see him play live a few times during his second spell at Elland Road in the mid 1980s, including this game at Fulham towards the end of my year in London at the LSE. Lorimer scored that day, early in the game, but Fulham came back with three late goals as Leeds were punished for poor finishing and lapses in concentration. At least that's what I wrote in my diary entry for the day! Lorimer was from Dundee - there seems to be some debate whether he was from Douglas or the Ferry. Maybe the family moved as there are people online saying they played football with him at Eastern Primary in the Ferry and others saying they admired his football trophies at his mum's house in Douglas. I went to see a testimonial at Dens for Lorimer - looking it up it seems to have been in April 1978 when Lorimer's Leeds select beat Dundee 3-2.
