Sally Mair - Loving life

Elf Caps

I first saw these in January of this year, I think for the first time ever and since then I've seen several clumps. These are in Ravelston Woods. Somebody has had a kick at one but the others are intact. So bright and cheerful and such a perfect name.
Another nice day today, so much so that I braved the outdoors in my nightie to hang out the washing - the back garden, which isn't overlooked, I hasten to add!
I paid a visit to Ali's to drop off a bed for Marvin so we sat in her garden for coffee which was nice. 3 weeks today is their wedding. At last.
When I got home I decided to do another washing and got the bedding washed and dried and back on the bed so it will smell lovely tonight. Hopefully that will help me sleep better.
I had a short spell of work in the garden, minimum effort compared to the last few days, it is nice to enjoy the sun. The first of our pink camellia flowers have opened, I must blip them quickly as they are very easily water or frost damaged.
Nice result in the rugby today, I watched it on and off, I did wonder about the wisdom of getting so close to another player in the scrum but presumably it's all been risk assessed!
I have managed to completely lose one of the cushions from our garden recliners.... I bought the cushion several years ago and only at the end of last season got around to putting it onto the chair. We used the old one to make the seat of the bench more comfortable. I have, what I thought was, a clear memory of deciding to put the new cushion away safely so the mice didn't get to it in the garage....... not only have they got it but they have eaten the entire thing, poly bag and everything, there can be no other explanation for the fact that it has disappeared completely. I've turned garage, house, every cupboard in sight upside down but no sign of it anywhere. I wouldn't mind, but it's huge!!
Really fancied fish and chips for tea tonight so we shared a 'special' fish supper. Special means done in breadcrumbs rather than batter and this being Scotland the standard fish is haddock. Just to make it even better I had some M&S fresh tartare sauce. Perfect!
Off to n̶o̶d̶ ̶o̶f̶f̶ ̶i̶n̶ ̶f̶r̶o̶n̶t̶ ̶o̶f̶ watch some TV now.
Stay safe everybody, scarey things happening in Europe with more lockdowns.
