More Still Life
For the first four years of my life Australia was in drought. When it rained people were so excited they went outside to walk about in it!
La Niña came this year, I think she’s Italian, and we’ve had so much rain it’s become boring!
We’re still holed up in our motorhome Ziggy at a tiny coastal surfing town on the mid-north coast of NSW. The only road into town is cut by floodwater so no one can get in or out.
We’re on a nice, elevated campsite with a concrete slab, so making the best of a difficult thing. There’s no problems extending our booking as the next people booked can’t get here.
Luckily the van is fully stocked with dog food and biscuits! (And human food). The rain eases occasionally letting all the dogs out for an ablutions walk. It’s really been quite a social time!
We’re supposed to be home a week on Monday! A second wave of wet weather is backing up behind this one, so we may still be here!
There are some great positives!
By the end of this month most drought stricken farmers will be grinning ear to ear.
Grass will grow in the desert and the cattle will get fat and tasty.
All the water reservoirs will be full, so no more water restrictions in country towns.
I haven’t had to worry about where the folks are all week. They’re right here next to me on the other sofa!
Oh, nearly forgot, my meditation practices have advanced to levitation and sitting on the ceiling.
Who’s a clever boy now?
