Storm Riders.
Today it hasn't stopped pouring. Gold Coast expecting 300ml more rain over night. With winds of up to 45kmph... giant waves are crashing onto our shores here, taking with them trees, sand dunes and pathways. Power has been lost to some households. There are emergency sandbag stations popping and locals frantically loading up their boots before the rain washes up their worldly possessions. I imagine the laundromat will be hot and steamy down in the village.
We live on the second story of our house, less than one hundred meters from the beach, rugged up inside with the windows shut tight. For now our outside toys are stacked and waiting for the storm to pass. We have our snuggly clothes on and the smell of some pre Easter hot cross buns are making everything smell delightful inside.
We are just moments away from 'butter appreciation'.
