Before and after
The bucket being changed on the excavator before the builder got to work on clearing the leylandii brash. Perfect weather for it.
There was a lot of it, and 40 years of leaf mould below. And many, many stones - so many, i think they must have dumped everything here as rough yard paving when the house and original steadings were being built.
Extra - 20' x 3' barrow of brash, ready for barrowing elsewhere to make paths or rot slowly down. Will produce an acid soil, i assume. If you are nearby and would like some for your garden/allotment, let me know!
