Fallen

The cut flowers in the house are falling.  This stem is one of the few left.  Outside, though, spring has arrived and the buds are pushing through everywhere.  We sat for a few minutes in the weak sun imagining that we were somewhere warmer.  We even considered having a glass of wine, but then the clouds came and we had to escape indoors.
