Going up
It was our day with Luca today, and we spent it pottering around at his 19 month old pace. For much of his time, he's necessarily trying to keep up with older children, and adults, around him. Today it was good just to hang out together, following his moods and whatever caught his eye.
Luca's big project, for the moment, is still chat. Many words are taking shape, some now beautifully articulated ('up!' 'down!' 'hand!' 'wee!'). Others are works in progress - like 'war...' for water, and 'burr' for bird, two major interests of his.
It's been sunny and - if you pick your spot - almost warm. So our trip to the park across the road was more relaxed than usual. Tonight, Richard and I have a Zoom dinner booked with two friends who live a couple of streets away. Perhaps next month we'll be able to eat out together in the garden? I've lost track of the waymarks on the infamous roadmap. But fingers crossed.
Thanks to everyone who passed on birthday greetings yesterday - much appreciated.
