Spring Beauty

The Red Flowering Currant shrub  (Ribes sanguineum)  in our front yard is now in bloom -- quite a change from a month ago (see extra photo).

Our resident hummingbirds will be pleased about that! The blossom color of this native Northwest shrub is very appealing to them, and its nectar will make a nice change from the sugar solution in the hanging feeder they frequent during the winter months.
