Special birthday outing
Today I joined those of you who have reached their 7th decade, yikes!
A friend joined me on an outing to the National Trust property, Killerton House, near Exeter and what a lovely day we had. The magnolias are just starting to flower, there were lots of spring flowers including the snakes head fritillary. After our packed lunch looking over the parkland, we walked over to the little Columbjohn chapel which we had visited with our walking group a few years ago. I arrived home to find a large bouquet of flowers from our family in Canada. Then followed FaceTime calls from both sons and I have just had a FaceTime call from our youngest grandson, M, who is 12 in Canada. He had just arrived home from school. A great day, not the one originally planned, (somewhere warmer abroad) but the sun obliged and we walked 7 miles. Looking forward to be able to meet up with up to 5 friends from next Monday and being able to spread our wings travel wise.
