First Bumble Bee Taken in Garden this Year
It has been a lovely day, as I walked around the garden I notices the bumble bees in the pieris plant, so I had a go a getting a shot of one. Many on the bumble bees have mites on them this time of year so I have rejected many pics I took.
I looked up about the mites on bees this is what it said about them.
Most bumblebees have many tiny mites clinging to their bodies. ... When in the nest, the mites usually feed upon the wax, pollen, nest debris, and other small insects, so do not feed on the bees. Then, when they reach a certain stage in their life cycle, the mites cling to worker bees, and are transported onto flowers.
