I believe this little bird is a Dunnock or to be old fashioned a Hedge Sparrow and I have also heard it called an LBJ !!
I hadn't taken much notice of his plumage before and think the mix of browns and greys is very pretty along with the illusion of stripes along his body.    I love how the sunlight filtering through the shrub highlights his colouring, especially his little amber eye.
