Blackthorn

This shrub is in the allotments at the end of the road and is not obviously loved by anybody! There is clutter round the base, but the blossom is as beautiful as ever! I am always interested that blackthorn has the blossom first and the leaves second in contrast to hawthorn where the leaves come out first and the blossom second... I will try and find a hawthorn tomorrow, but I doubt I will be able to find such a prolific one !there are plenty of hawthorn hedges, but I doubt I will find one as big as this blackthorn!
