Reflecting on a street

This is Turnmill Street, next to Farringdon Station. I've just been reading about its history - one of the most notorious streets in the history of London for its grimy buildings, residents and events, supposedly!
There are records from the 13th century of it being offensive; Henry IV in the 14th century called for it to be 'cleansed'; Cardinal Wolsey raided houses there in the 16th century as it had become synonymous with prostitution and crime. So it goes on.
