Anna's Hummingbird Feeding Two Chicks

Today is a cold and rainy early spring day for the chicks in the nest and the Mom out foraging for food.
We were thrilled to see her on our feeder when we noticed her distinctive little red gorget as she was "refueling" this morning. (she is so tiny!)
The chicks morphed over night as their feathers are breaking free from the sheaths that encased them... their fluffy backs clearly have iridescent green color.
Mom spends all her daytime hours foraging now and the chicks keep each other warm in the insulated nest.
The chicks when side by side are wider that she is, so I'm not sure she can do much to keep them warm.
I intend to have a peek at the nest after dark with my red headlamp to see if Mom is on the nest.
